Dog Day Care Frequently Asked Questions
What are your business and holiday hours?
We are open Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 7:30pm, Friday 7:00am – 7:00pm, Saturday 8:00am – 4:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm – 7:00pm. Our hours do change on the day of and around major holidays. Click here for our holiday hours. Regardless of our lobby hours, your pup will still play all day long with our canine supervisors 365 days a year, 7 days a week.
Do I need to bring my pet’s own food?
It’s always best to keep a dog on their normal daily diet. We can accommodate practically any feeding needs and schedules (wet, dry, medication, picky eaters). We do require that you bring in your dog’s food prepackaged in individual bags per meal. If you do not bring food or if your pup runs out of food during their stay, we can also provide house food for $4 per meal. We also have a variety of top brands of food for sale in our retail section.
Can I bring toys and treats for my pet?
Treats and bones are always welcome. We only allow toys that are indestructible for safety purposes.
Can I bring my pet’s personal bedding?
No. We ask that your pup travel light while at Puppy Haven. Don’t worry though- we provide all dogs with an elevated bed and a plush mat for the entirety of their stay so there is no need to bring personal bedding or blankets.
Will you administer medications for my pet?
Yes, we can administer pills, ointments, eye drops and ear drops. Please bring the medicine in its original container from your pet’s vet. Sorry, but we are not able to accept dogs with diabetes.
Do I need to make a reservation?
We require boarding reservations at all locations. Our Brookhaven and Chastain locations require daycare reservations, as well, while no reservations are required for daycare at Roswell. At all stores, we can create a standing daycare reservation for your pup if you plan to always come the same days each week. This will reserve your spot if you use our Brookhaven or Chastain locations and also helps us project how many pups we can expect on a given day. We do fill up quickly for boarding, especially in the summer and around holidays, so remember to make your reservations well in advance! As a reminder, boarding reservations are not confirmed until the 50% deposit has been paid.
Do you offer half days for daycare?
No. However, daycare is always half price on Sundays!
What is kennel cough? Is it possible my dog could be exposed while at Puppy Haven?
We have developed a separate page for frequently asked questions and answers on kennel cough. Click here for more information.
Do you have a boarding cancellation policy?
We require a 50% deposit on all boarding reservations. All Boarding Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to cancel your reservation, we will add your deposit as a store credit, which you can use at any time.
I have two or more dogs. Can they stay together?
Yes, all of our suites and apartments are large enough to accommodate virtually any size dog. In order to board together, dogs must come from the same household and do well together. If sibling dogs need to board separately, the sibling discount may not apply. Please note that daycare playrooms are based on the size and temperament of each dog (i.e. we cannot guarantee your dogs will be in the same playroom).
Is the kennel heated and air conditioned?
Yes. We keep our entire facility very comfortable for the dogs at all times with heating and air throughout!
Do you accept all breeds?
We do not permit pit bulls, cane corsos, presa canarios, akitas, boerboels, mastiffs and dogo argentinos. At Puppy Haven, we love all breeds, but also must have certain regulations in place to keep the playrooms as safe as possible in an open pack environment. We do accept mixed breeds.
What vaccinations do you require and what’s the youngest age I can bring my pup?
We require a hard copy of your dog’s most recent vaccinations, including Rabies, DHPP (Distemper/parvo), Bordetella, and H3N2 Canine Influenza. We accept a one or three year Rabies and DHLPP, depending on your vet. We also accept a six-month or one-year Bordetella vaccination, also depending on your vet. As for puppies, we do not have a minimum age to attend Puppy Haven. However, he/she must have completed all three rounds of puppy shots before their visit.
Does my pup have to be spayed or neutered?
Yes. We require all dogs to be spayed or neutered by 8 months.
Do you require a temperament test for every dog?
Yes. Every dog is required to undergo a complimentary temperament test in order to determine his/her behavior, even if they have been to daycare before. Click here for more information on the requirements to enroll a new dog.
*If your dog has not visited with us in over a year they are required to redo the temperament test before coming in for daycare and/or boarding.
Do you offer daycare packages?
Yes, we have several different packages for daycare, each offering savings over our daily rate! We have a 5 Day Package for $140 ($28/day, saves $10), a 10 Day Package for $270 ($27/day, saves $30) and a 20 Day Package for $500 ($25/day, saves $100). Packages may be shared among sibling dogs, never expire and can be used any any Puppy Haven location!
Can I use my daycare package at all Puppy Haven locations?
Yes, all locations are on the same system and share information. You can use your package at whichever Puppy Haven you’d like!
